Exasol Data Warehouse
With steady data growth and increasing demands for centralized reporting, MEDION’s previous database solution was reaching its limits. The limiting licensing model and existing hardware required future-oriented optimization to ensure agility and performance.
MEDION opted for an expansion of the infrastructure and transition to a new licensing model for the Exasol Data Warehouse. Switching to RAM-based licensing and utilizing in-memory technology resulted in a significant performance boost. A “3+1” hardware setup ensures maximum reliability.
The switch to RAM-based licensing and use of in-memory technology enabled complete data processing in working memory, leading to significant performance improvements and faster data queries.
Through the “3+1” hardware concept with three main nodes and one backup node in case of failover, MEDION achieves significantly higher reliability and dependability of the Data Warehouse.
As a Single Point of Truth, the Exasol Data Warehouse is developing into the central data source in the company. It creates the basis for deeper data analysis, the use of AI-supported tools, and the integration of OpenAI solutions to unlock new analysis possibilities.
